Review on NBA 2K25
On September 6th, 2024, the official NBA game of the 24-25 season, NBA 2K25, was released. Developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Games alongside Take-Two Interactive, it is the 25th version of the game and includes 3 different versions: Standard, All-Star, and Hall of Fame.
Many people think that NBA2K has fallen off the throne as the best sports game out there. The sales of the game have been on a decline since 2020, the last ‘decent’ 2K game, 2K20. Gamers have been complaining that 2K is getting boring over the years, the gaming quality never significantly improved, and the game modes are very similar every year.
One of the biggest changes in the game this year is the improvements made in MyCity, a virtual city in which players can interact with each other and actually ‘walk’ to the basketball court to play. Another exciting feature would be the addition of new NBA rookies. The rookies this season are particularly exciting as Lakers Star Lebron James’s son, Bronny James Jr., who got drafted with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft, had joined the game.
However, some parts are considered somewhat annoying in the game. The shot meter, a jump shot timing tool, has been said to be extremely difficult to master. The difficulty of the game compared to previous years has also significantly increased; opponents have gotten stronger in most game modes, especially the MyTeam game mode.
Overall, the new game is a must-buy if you want to experience smoother gameplay and new features. The standard version is recommended as you get a great bang for your buck, but if budget is not a problem at all for you, the Hall of Fame version is the way to go.
