Last Saturday, St. Mary’s hosted a wrestling event, “Beast of the East”. “Beast of the East” is an annual wrestling event for schools around the Asia-Pacific area. This year’s event was also the first event ever with female wrestlers competing.
Various international schools, including Shonan, Seisen, St. Mary’s, KIST, CAJ, and ASIJ. Base schools from around Japan attended the event. In addition to that, wrestlers from Okinawa, Iwakuni, and even as far away as Korea also traveled to the Home of the Titans to participate in a day of competitive and exciting wrestling matches.
Titans finished second, just 6 points behind Kadena HS with 53 team points. Our wrestlers fought hard, and 3 of our athletes finished as individual champions: 152lb Nathaniel T. (’25), 172lb Luke Y. (’25), 189lb Roman L. (’25). 160lb Kabilan B. (’25), and 215lb Jimin K. (’26), having a close battle but coming in silver.
Congratulations to all the athletes listed above and we wish them all the best for the rest of the season.
