Grade 8 students at St. Mary’s presented their Literary Nonfiction Inquiry Posters, highlighting their thinking and analytical skills. The projects focused on self-selected nonfiction books, with students exploring key themes, concepts, and issues while focusing on the diversity of the books.
The posters featured well-organized content, combining visuals and text to effectively convey the most important ideas from the books. Students demonstrated their ability to select relevant information, structure it clearly, and provide detailed explanations to support their claims and analyses.
Aligned with academic standards, the project emphasized informative writing, research skills, and evidence-based reasoning. Students identified central themes, analyzed significant events or dialogue, and explored connections between ideas, events, and characters, strengthening their understanding of literary nonfiction with the help of the lead teacher Mr. Kim.
