From February 12th to February 15th, the grade 6 students traveled to Kawaba village in Gunma prefecture. From the skiing to the activities to the food, the students had an unforgettable experience with their teachers and friends. Special thanks to Mr.Dixon for sharing information on the ski trip.

The students stayed at the Fujiyama village lodge, owned by the Setagaya ward. The hotel is surrounded by nature and offers a relaxing space for all of the students and teachers. The hotel also had amazing food, using ingredients from the local village. Dixon highlighted that the best part of the trip was the free skiing session. He stated “Freeskiing, without a doubt. On the last day, even the students who were in the beginner class two days before were riding the lifts and skiing quite comfortably. It was amazing to see how much they had improved.” The students also enjoyed games at the lodge. On day 2 however, things didn’t go as planned. Students couldn’t ski on the second day due to the dangerously strong winds. Instead, students had some reading time and played board games by the slope. In the afternoon, students were divided into two groups. One group played indoor games in an open area in the lodge while the other group went outside and used their creative minds to build igloos and snowmen. Fortunately, the students were able to go back to the slope and ski on the final day.
In conclusion, the ski trip allowed everyone to improve their ski skills and created unforgettable memories lasting for a lifetime!
