The Read-a-thon, held from February 1st to February 28th by the Library Council, was a fundraiser in which students raised money for Mirai no Mori by reading books. Mirai no Mori is a non-profit organization that supports children in Japan who have experienced abuse, neglect, or orphanage. The funds raised will help provide educational programs and outdoor experiences to empower these children and support their futures.
Daniel (’30) and Yamato (’30) from 7th grade were recognized as the top participants in the Read-a-thon.
Event coordinator Dominic (Class of ’26) said, “The Read-a-thon is a great way to raise money to help people in need by doing something relaxing and fun. Please consider participating to change the lives of kids in need.”
Participants raised money by filling out sponsorship forms and reading as many pages as possible. Ms. Odate, leader of the Library Council, said, “Reading, which is something you have to do every day, can make a difference in people’s lives.”
