Diplomat Reporter Rinnosuke Shibata
The St. Mary’s International School Newspaper The Diplomat is proud to announce that 10th grade student Rinnosuke Shibata is the first among his peers this year to reach the 25 published news story milestone. He was awarded a certificate and pin upon the publication of his most recent story detailing the visit of Asahi Shibun reporter Takuya Asakura. The newspaper advisor/teacher Mr. Douglas said “It is fitting that Rinnosuke should achieve this with a story about a professional journalist as Rinnosuke so clearly has the drive a real newspaper reporter.” Mr. Douglas further explained that Rinnosuke is a model reporter—curious, dependable, and consistent. ” No matter the assignment, I know that he will get it done quickly, and professionally.”
The Diplomat has a staff of 11 students this year and Mr. Douglas says that he is confident that soon many more reporters will “earn their pins” as well.
