The wait is “ogre”—Shrek: The Musical is finally here! After months of dedication and preparation, the High School Tri-School Musical Team is ready bring the acting and wonderful backstage production to the stage. With opening night just happening days away, the tickets are selling fast, so make sure to get yours before they’re gone. The show will be on from Friday, Saturday morning and evening, and on Sunday too.

This will be a historic collaboration between the three international schools, St. Mary’s, Seisen, and ISSH, has brought together an incredible talented cast and hardworking backstage with even some middle schoolers acting in as child actors. Under the direction of Dr. Reiner, with the assistance of Ms Durrett and vocal director from Mr Drahos, countless of restless hours have been put into every scene, song, and dances to make it all happen smoothly. Credit should also be given, as they couldn’t have done it without the makeup team, lighting crew, and technicians, as well as the publicity team, all working together to make this musical the biggest musical in the Tri-School Musical history.

According to George A., the Publicity Director and 11th grade student, he said that, “rehearsal have been intense, taking practices three times a week from the afternoon up into the late evening” in order for all of it happen. Furthermore, the use of a full pit orchestra has helped bring its iconic music from the movie to life, which adding yet another magical touch its beautiful performance.

Shrek: The Musical tells a story of a grumpy green ogre, Shrek, whose swamp was invaded by other fairy tale creatures banished from Lord Farquaad. Determined to get his homeland back, he strikes a deal to rescue Lord Farquaad’s chosen love, Princess Fiona, from a place “far far away.” So please come and watch the show. The ticket will officially sold from Monday at the first-half of lunch and onwards; 1000 yen for students and alumni, and 1500 yen for parents and teachers.
