Due to their academic rigour and content, the SATs can be challenging and stressful for many students. However, if studied correctly and done in advance, the SATs can enable students to excel academically and in life. Special thanks to Ms.Marwood for providing further details about the SAT. “If you’re looking to attend Japanese universities, taking the SAT in March or May of 11th grade is the best time to take it for the first time,” Ms.Marwood, the high school university counselor, said. SATs are mandatory most of the time, and are highly beneficial to university applications. Ms.Marwood also explained that students should generally take 2 SATs or 3 if needed, and submit the best score out of all attempts. However, she also explained that students should prioritize the IB curriculum and their overall grades for classes over SATs. She explained that although they are required, SATs are an additional substitute for students’ IB scores and grades.
