Despite rainy weather, last Saturday, May 10th, the whole school community came together to celebrate the most highly anticipated school event of the year, the school Carnival. Starting at 9:30 am and ending at 4:30 pm, the Carnival consisted of many cultures, high creativity, and deep connections between students, teachers, and staff, that all contribute to the community.
In the Carnival, booths from countries all around the world were represented, varying from Taiwan, Australia, China, South America, and much more. Many traditions and cultural activities were shared, as every booth featured food, games, or cultural activities that gave students and visitors a taste of their home country.
While the rainy weather was an inconvenience, it certainly did not stop many people from coming and enjoying the school event. “It was a really successful carnival, despite the rainy weather,” said Rinnosuke Shibata. “A lot of people came, and we really have to say thanks to all the staff, teachers, parents, and boosters that made it possible.”
Rinnosuke himself was part of the action. “I was working at the Library booth — it was a great success,” he said. Just like many other students who worked that day, Rinnosuke worked hard to make sure that the library booth was running smoothly all day long.
Thanks to the communities collective hard work, the carnival was a massive success. “This carnival was so fun, Im already exited for next years” said Kai Tastumi. Whether visitors came for the food, the games, or the atmosphere, the Carnival showed again that a little bit of rain cannot stop the schools festive atmosphere when the community gets together.
