On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Mr. Kagei, headmaster of St. Mary’s, visited the Journalism class to acknowledge the students’ efforts and dedication to reporting the news of the school throughout the year.

He thanked the students for their effort to serve the school community. He emphasized how the paper, in various forms, has existed throughout the 70 years of the school’s existence. He explained that when he was a student he worked on the Diplomat when it was a was a physical paper. “It taught me many important skills” Mr. Kagei explained. he further explained how impressed he was by how it was with the current journalism class, full of energy, creativity, and a strong responsibility. Mr. Kagei encouraged students to continue refining their journalistic skills, reminding them that these abilities are necessary throughout life when communicating and interacting with people. Mr. Kagei expressed deep gratitude for students’ dedication in conveying the school’s story to the St. Mary’s community, and encouraged students to carry on the hard work with passion and integrity, to bring the community together even after his departure.
