Ms. Shanna Young of Class 133
Ms. Shanna Young has recently come to St. Mary’s after her career in Germany and the United States to set her sights for Tokyo, Japan. She is now the new high school volleyball coach and the 2nd grade teacher of Class 133. Replacing Mr. Levenstein, the previous volleyball coach, Ms. Young brings a dynamic and spirited feeling that is bound to infect the St. Mary’s volleyball team. With a pragmatic mindset and vast experience in her field, Ms. Young is ready to take on the challenges she might face in the following years.

“Kind, quiet, all boys,” Ms. Young joked when describing her first impression of the students of St. Mary’s. The new coach displayed a unique enthusiasm for teaching her players the love of the game and the skills they might gain from it. “I like cheering each other on… I like how we get to read people, and I’m an observer so that helps,” Ms. Young replied when asked about why she loved volleyball.
“She gives great feedback,” a JV volleyball player commented when asked of their impression of Ms. Young. With new beginnings, it seems as though there are great things ahead for the JV volleyball team this year.
