Mr. Graeber is a new Grade 5 teacher at St. Mary’s this year. He has taught in Chile, England, China, and most recently at Nagoya International School, where he spent 10 years.
He decided to join St. Mary’s because he wanted a change and was looking for a school with strong academics, discipline, sports, and arts programs. Another important reason was his family. His son is now in Grade 6 at St. Mary’s, and his daughter attends Seisen in Grade 3.

Mr. Graeber says he was impressed right away by the respectful atmosphere at Mass and by the high level of academics in the elementary school. He especially enjoys teaching Grade 5, as he says his students are at impressive reading, writing, and math levels.
Mr. Graeber grew up in Virginia, and his family now lives in South Carolina. He also has roots in Texas. In high school, he played lacrosse, tennis, and cross country, and remembers those years as some of the best of his life.
He says he feels lucky to be part of the St. Mary’s community and looks forward to many years of teaching here.
