St. Mary’s is excited to welcome the new fourth-grade teacher, Tanya Dechodomphan Ms. Dechodomphan is excited to start her journey at St. Mary’s as she is dedicated to helping students grow and strengthen their academic ability, sharpening their skills to prepare them for middle school. Ms. Dechodomphan hopes to bring lots of passion and love to St. Mary’s.
Ms. Dechodomphan explained that when she was younger, she didn’t always enjoy going to school, and she found the education system difficult. However, these setbacks motivated her to pursue a career in education. She became a teacher who relates to students and makes learning an enjoyable experience. She believes it’s her duty to help students find their strengths and lead them to be their very best version of themselves.
When the Diplomat asked Ms. Dechodomphan about her thoughts on being a teacher, Ms. Dechodomphan stated that she thought the most fulfilling aspect of being a teacher is “Seeing kids grow is the most rewarding part of teaching.” This response demonstrates her attitude towards teaching.
In addition to loving to teach, Ms. Dechodomphan loves friendship and values community. She enjoys collaborating with other teachers and is looking forward to developing strong relationships with the St. Mary’s teachers and students.
