On September 10th, the St. Mary’s varsity tennis team had a match against Zama, a military school. The match was incredibly one-sided, with St. Mary’s beating Zama 5-0, sweeping them. This means that the three singles players and the four doubles players all won their matches. Coach Kung commented, “The boys dominated those matches, but it was nice to see them being respectful too.”

Looking ahead, a match against CAJ is scheduled for September 16th at around 3:30 p.m. A win would keep the team’s dominant momentum going. Coach Kung said, “This match should also be a dominant match, but I hope to still see them play respectfully.” In terms of players, Kung mentioned that he would like to give “newer players more experience.”
As St. Mary’s continues its tradition of tennis excellence, the team looks to build on its early-season success and showcase both skill and sportsmanship in the upcoming match against CAJ.
