The new generation of iPhone has been announced with availability beginning at September 19th. According to Apple, it features the new “48MP Dual Fusion camera system, the new Center Stage front camera for smarter group selfies, and Dual Capture video”, offering a wide range of upgrades. It is also stated that there is a new and improved version of the chip, which increases its computing capacity, making it much faster and capable.
Main improvements compared to the previous generations are camera related. The new 48MP Dual Fusion camera allows the user to capture wider field of view in more detail, while also having the default 24MP camera which offers a great balance between quality and data size for everyday use. AI is also implemented in the camera, especially when taking group photos; it automatically expands the field of view and rotate from portrait to landscape to capture everyone in the frame.
Moreover, there are improvements outside the camera, such as the durability of the phone. The display, for example, is bigger and brighter than ever, while having 3x the scratch resistance compared to previous generation. It is also said that the battery lasts much longer, and charges much faster. Overall, the iPhone 17 offers both better and new features as well as increase in durability, offering a much better user experience.
