The Tokyo Game Show is a gaming convention that happens every year where people can see upcoming games from developers both big and small. Tokyo Game Show 2025 has just finished and there were many exciting new gaming announcements. The show was from Thursday the 25th to Sunday the 28th.
This year’s show was in Makuhari Chiba at the Makuhari Messe, a large set of buildings where major events are often held. Many of the major companies including Konami, Sony, Nintendo, Sega, and Capcom had a presence at the event. Important game showcases included, Battlefield 6, Ninja Gaiden 4, Biohazard requiem, Crimson Desert, and many others. Many of these games had demos available for people to try out. Additional content for existing games was also showcased.
It wasn’t just big companies that showed off their games. The Tokyo Game Show is also a place where new developers show off their games. Some of these games are made by just a single person. There were booths showing off games developed by a single person as well as games from small companies and booths dedicated to games developed in a specific place or country. While the show’s main focus is games, there were also other things on the show floor. There were many gaming related items such as keyboards, controllers, cameras, consoles, and accessories. Many areas were for selling gaming related goods from both companies and individuals.
While some companies have moved to online events or digital showcases, many companies still set up booths and put lots of effort into getting people’s attention and advertising at conventions like the Tokyo Game Show.
