Soccer Open Field
With the official soccer season limited the short winter season, seniors Rintaro Hirota and YeJoon Jeong launched a new student-led Soccer Club to give players more opportunities to play and train throughout the year. The club meets on Sundays from 1–3 pm on the field and welcomes all skill levels.
“The number one reason that motivated us to start the club was the lack of opportunity for athletes to play soccer outside of the season,” Rintaro said. “Our goal as a team has always been to beat ASIJ, and to do that, we need to practice more than them.”
The idea for this club came from seeing how the Ballers Initiative Club (BIC), consistently uses gym to train players even in the off season. “We felt like the basketball players were taking advantage of the space to improve and stay active, so we thought—why not do the same for soccer?” Rintaro explained.
“We hope members develop both on and off the field, improving their skills while building a stronger, more united community,” Rintaro said.
This club has been going on for a couple weeks now, so if interested in joining please email [email protected] or use this Google Form.
