The St. Mary’s tennis season is nearly coming to an end, highlighted by their overseas trip. This year, the team traveled to Jeju Island, a beautiful island in Korea, for their tournament. The team takes a yearly trip, with last year’s taking place at Phuket.
During the trip, they competed in a tournament against several schools, including Seoul International School (SIS), ASIJ, and others. The team finished in close second place overall, narrowly losing a match to SIS 2-3. Coach Kung described it as a “close game” that even went to a “tiebreaker.” Despite the strong competition, the team performed exceptionally well and was able to conclude their trip on a high note.
Outside of the tournament and tennis, the trip was packed with fun and new experiences. Members enjoyed a range of unique activities, from sampling live octopus to relaxing at the resort. They also explored the city, immersing themselves in Korean culture and trying out new things, making the trip a memorable balance of competition and adventure.

The team has had a fantastic season, with only one game left: the senior night matchup against YIS on October 29th. This will be the final chance to see the seniors showcase their skills and for fans to cheer them on. According to Coach Kung, the Jeju trip was an “overall successful trip,” blending tennis and fun perfectly.
