On Wednesday, October 8th, St. Mary’s students took the PSAT. The 10th and 11th graders tested in the MPH, while the 9th graders took the test in rooms 300, 301, and 310. Students were eager for the test to begin.
The PSAT tested students on their reading, writing, and math skills. Some students found it challenging, but others said it helped them learn about what they are lacking in different subjects. It was a great way to test your ability in different parts of education. Aleksander Osmycki, a new 9th grader at St. Mary’s, said it was a unique experience taking the PSAT. He explained that it was a great way to challenge himself and see where his academic strengths and weaknesses are. Aleksander said the test helped him understand what to focus on. Another student, Edward Rubin, described the PSAT as an “interesting, hard, nerve-wracking” experience. St. Mary’s students all have mixed feelings towards the PSAT. However, Most students agree that it was a helpful experience.
Teachers encouraged students to try their best. And to take the test seriously because it can help them prepare for college entrance exams. This test allows St. Mary’s students to prepare for the SAT through what they learnt from the PSAT.
Overall, it was a great learning experience that helped students prepare for upcoming college exams.
