Saino Tanizaki, a new accompanist at St. Mary’s International School is a highly skilled pianist and is the newest member of the music department. She majored in Classical Piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the UK.
“I enjoy performing, but I feel even happier when I see the student’s growth and their improvement in skills,” she said, as she was reflecting on her reasoning for becoming a teacher. Her passion for teaching students has not only helped many people in schools, but she has also taught piano to students from the age of 3 up to 86.
Ms. Tanizaki’s experience of teaching goes beyond just the piano, as she has learned how to perform many instruments along her journey even after she graduated. While speaking about learning new instruments, she said “I can improve my performing technique as well as the way of communication with students through these experiences.”
Looking ahead, Ms. Tanizaki is focused on creating an inclusive and positive learning environment where students are ready to overcome challenges and have fun and enjoy music. “If students are struggling with a specific part or technique, I discuss it with them and suggest a solution that suits their needs,” Ms. Tanizaki explained. This approach ensures that every single student feels supported and encouraged.
With a strong dedication to students growth, and a belief for her student success, Ms.Tanizaki is focused on making a lasting impact on the musical community at St. Mary’s.
