A Big Step Forward for the Baseball Team in Korea
Titans Battle Hard at Baseball Far East

On April 21-26, the varsity baseball team competed at Camp Humphreys in South Korea to compete in the D1 Far East Baseball Tournament, finishing fourth.

The highlight of the tournament came against Kadena. In a thrilling game, the team secured its first win over them in several years. Timely hitting and solid defense combined with a stand out performance by Senior Issei T helped the team, as he pitching the whole game and drove a double to help himself out.

However, the team also faced setbacks. In a close 8-9 loss against Kubasaki, they were walked off in the final inning, ending a hard-fought effort in a tough loss. Defensive errors at key moments proved costly during the tournament, extending innings and allowing opponents to take advantage. Those mistakes ultimately played a role in the team falling short of a 3rd place finish.

Senior Ken B received tournament all-star honors, marking the second consecutive year of him being selected.

Despite finishing fourth, this shows both progress and areas for growth. Players and coaches pointed to the experience as a valuable test against strong competition.

Looking ahead, the team hopes to build on this foundation. With a strong incoming freshman class expected next season, there is optimism that the program will continue to improve and return even more competitive at future Far East tournaments.

Furthermore Kenjiro K, Derek F, Ty T, and Ken B got invited to the DoDEA Far East Pro-day happing on May 17th, giving them the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of MLB scouts and other regional coaches and players.
