On March 11, 2026, Japan marked 15 years since the 2011 Tōhoku Earthquake and Tsunami, one of the worst disasters in the country – and the world’s history. The students at St. Mary’s mark this day in various ways–the RP classes made Japanese flags to memorialize the event. In other grades teachers lead discussions, and helped students to reflect on the tragedy, and consider ways to prepare in the case of a future disaster.
