This Saturday, St. Mary’s Junior Varsity and Varsity teams put on an impressive performance on their home ground. The school’s high school JV team consisting of Keisuke (’29), Shoma (’29), Matti (’29), and 8th grade prodigy Luke (’30), achieved the silver plaque, only behind UIA’s Junior Varsity team. In the Varsity division, St. Mary’s Team A consisting of Romeo (’27), Oma (’27), Rowe (’27), and Jonathan (’29) achieved the same placement, winning them second place in the entire division.

In the History Bee, the individual competition, St. Mary’s Junior Varsity Division dominated, winning two out of the three places in the podium (Keisuke winning 2nd place, Jonathan winning the gold plaque.) In the 2nd year since the Elementary History Bee division was introduced, which included younger middle schools students (typically those in 6th or 7th grade,) St. Mary’s Cole (’31) clinched the bronze title.

“Though we didn’t do as well as we did in the Autumn History Bowl [and Bee] because of some members being unavailable due to prior commitments,” Jonathan admitted, “I still have very high hopes for the next season.” With St. Mary’s putting on an amazing performance at both competitions this season, the 2026-2027 season holds a bright future for the school.
