On January 9th, 2026, the French ab initio 2 (lower level) class were visited by special guest speaker Andrew Douglas, who spoke about his experience studying at a French college. The presentation aimed to help students consider attending a French university and to broaden their college options beyond their home countries.

Mr. Douglas shared that the college he attended, SciencesPo, was not on his radar for most of high school. However, he explained that choosing the dual degree program between Columbia University and SciencesPo was one of the best decisions he has ever made. He hoped to show students that France has universities that can compete with those in the UK and the US, and that many colleges around the world accept students even if they do not speak the local language.
Overall, the presentation was successful, and the French students were thankful for the opportunity to hear about international college options and gain new perspectives on their future education.
