Mike Lowery is an American author and illustrator best known for his playful drawing style and his ability to make creative and fun stories. Blending humor in his work, Lowery creates books that encourages readers, especially young readers, to explore their imagination without fear of making mistakes.
He recently visited St. Mary’s International School, where he spoke with elementary students about discovering their passions and believing in their own creativity. He encouraged them to try new things and not be afraid of mistakes. He explained that finding what you love often begins with curiosity. Elementary School Librarian Ms. Hays said, “He was an excellent presenter. The kids loved him and the teachers loved him. He talked about his books, which were hilarious.”

He also shared how he started writing graphic novels and what inspired him to take becoming an author seriously. Lowery explained that his career began with small drawings and ideas, which slowly grew into stories as he kept drawing every day. By telling his personal journey, he showed students that anyone can turn their hobby into a meaningful career through dedication and imagination.
