Paris Saint-Germain has advanced to the final of the UEFA Champions League after defeating FC Bayern Munich 6–5 on aggregate in the semi-finals. PSG secured qualification after a 1–1 draw in the second leg in Munich on May 6.
PSG entered the second leg with a narrow advantage following their dramatic 5–4 win in the first match. In Germany, the French side took an early lead through Ousmane Dembélé before Bayern responded late through Harry Kane. However, Bayern’s equalizer was not enough to overturn the aggregate score.
The result sends PSG to their second consecutive Champions League final, where they will face Arsenal F.C.. Arsenal reached the final after defeating Real Madrid CF in the other semi-final. The final is scheduled to take place on May 30 in Budapest.
After the match, PSG forward Désiré Doué spoke about the team’s achievement. “It was an exceptional match, another magical night in Munich against a great team,” he said. “These are the kinds of matches we’ve dreamt of playing since we were little.”
The semi-final showed a different side of PSG compared to the first leg. While the opening game focused heavily on attacking football, the second leg required stronger defending and discipline under pressure.
With another final now ahead, PSG will now attempt to defend their Champions League title against Arsenal.
