He wakes up at 6:30 a.m. and leaves the house at 7:30 after eating a solid breakfast to fuel his day. While robotics may not require physical strength like traditional sports, it demands a lot mental focus and endurance.
During the school day, he focuses on his classes, knowing that his afternoons will be long. With practice running from 3:30 to 7:00 pm, five days a week, balancing homework and robotics can be challenging. Since the season is short and includes only three competitions, every practice counts. To stay on top of everything, he manages his time carefully and makes sure to get enough sleep.
After school, the team gets to work. Practices include coding, building, planning, testing, and team meetings. One of the hardest parts is debugging. Sometimes the code seems correct, but the robot does not respond. Trial and error is a large part of the routine. Instead of getting frustrated, the team adjusts, tests again, and keeps improving.

Competitions are the highlight of the season. Months of preparation come down to just a few events, which makes focus and teamwork essential.
Being part of VEX Robotics requires discipline, patience, and collaboration. Even though robotics doesn’t require running or tackling, the intensity is real, and the commitment is just as serious.
