He wakes up at 7:00 a.m. every school day. In the morning, he eats foods that help fuel his body for varsity soccer, including carbohydrates like bread and rice, along with fats and protein such as milk and bacon. Eating a strong breakfast helps him stay energized for school and soccer. On game days, he drinks a Red Bull before the match to boost his energy.
During the school day, he balances academics with soccer responsibilities. Because the team has practice every day after school, he makes sure to stay ahead of his homework. One way he does this is by completing assignments on the train. He does not feel overly tired in class because he prioritizes sleep and gets a minimum of eight hours every night.
After school, he heads to practice. The team has five practices per week, split into two strength and conditioning sessions and three regular soccer practices. Each session lasts between 90 minutes and two hours. He stated “The hardest part of training is the sprints across the field at the end of practice, when fatigue is at its highest”. After practices he usually goes straight home because he needs time to study, and he also goes to the gym to continue improving his fitness and discipline.
On game days, he plays about half the match and focuses on giving maximum effort while he is on the field. Being a varsity soccer player requires discipline, time management, and commitment, but he continues to push himself because of his dedication to the sport.
