Polish runner Wojciech Kopeć recently competed in the Tokyo Marathon. This was not his first time running the race. In fact, it was his third marathon in Tokyo. Kopeć explained that this year he once again finished as the fastest Polish runner in the race. “This was actually my third marathon in Tokyo and for the third time I became the first Polish runner,” he said.
During the race, Kopeć faced several difficult sections of the course. He explained that the hardest

part was the middle section of the marathon. “The hardest part was the middle section between about the twenty-fifth and the thirty-second kilometer,” he said. According to Kopeć, that area of the race is challenging because runners face strong headwinds and hilly terrain.
Even though the race was difficult, Kopeć achieved a result that surprised him. He said that based on his training he expected to run slower. However, the final time was better than he had planned. “The time achieved here is really a nice surprise for me,” Kopeć said. He also shared that he was happy with his final result of two hours and twenty-five minutes.
The Tokyo Marathon continues to attract runners from all over the world each year. For Kopeć, competing in the race again and achieving a strong result made the experience especially rewarding.
