The St. Mary’s Middle School volleyball team opened their season with a competitive match against YIS. Although the team lost, the first game of the season showed strong effort and teamwork from the players.
The first set was very close, with both teams battling for every point. YIS narrowly won the set 25–23 after a tight back-and-forth rally. In the second set, YIS gained a small advantage and finished the match with a 25–19 win.
Despite the result, the St. Mary’s players showed great sportsmanship and team spirit throughout the game. Teammates consistently encouraged each other and kept their energy high on the court. the support between players stood out the most during the match. “Key moments were the team cheering one another on and showing constant support. They displayed strong teamwork, hard work, and a positive attitude throughout the game,” Coach Young stated. “They brought positive energy and I am proud of them.”
