This week, students at St. Marys International School joined together to support a project called The Nepal Service Trip that will take place in 2027. Due to the efforts of the 6th graders this project will be possible. Led by Mr. Douglas and students such as Keita ‘(28), the trip is going to be more than just a memorable trip, but making a difference in the Nepal community.
The project is related to a community called the Court for Kids, which focuses on building multi-use courts in communities that need them. St.Marys Students will travel to Nepal and work alongside “Court for Kids” to construct a concrete court that can be used for athletic activities. Through building this facility, students can infer that they require teamwork, cultural exchange, and helping others in a new light.

They are many merits to the students participating. Not only will they have the opportunity to help people of thier own age, they can also contribute to something real and lasting, a build a valuable experience with other schools. Experiences such as this allows students to step out of their everyday lives and realize other people’s perspectives on the world. In general, the Nepal Service Trip reflects amongst the St. Mary’s values. With further support from the community, the project will not only build a court, but establish understandings, memories, and friendships.
