This year, there have been many important news events that have occurred within and outside of school. Within the school, this reporter feels like the biggest event would be the introduction of the new headmaster, and, obviously, the sports news. The headmaster is important because this would dictate how school life would change and become as we go through our academic endeavors. Outside of school, the most important news would be the war in Israel since this would affect many in the future.
Within our school this year, many events were covered by the Diplomat. More specifically, there was heavy sports coverage. As a school known to be competitive in all sports, it would, of course, lead to coverage. It is important since sports are things that all students love, and it also helps the students keep track of how the school is doing. For example, the Tennis team is historically an exceptionally strong team, which does not get much coverage, so the article St. Mary’s Varsity Tennis Shines in Jeju, Clinches Second Place Finish would shine light on the things all students ignore.
Overall, the war in Israel and Iran is the most important currently. As this war proceeds, life in Japan could drastically change, leading to price of things such as oil to rise, therefore the article Japan Begins to Lower Oil Usage As Supply Becomes Unstable could highlights what life could become.
Ultimately, the school year had a wide range of news coverage, ranging from school sports to world-wide crisis. In terms of the bigger picture, it could be said that it was a successful year.
