As fall sports wrap up at St. Mary’s, athletes celebrate the end of a successful season in cross-country, tennis, and volleyball. Cross-country runners finished strong in Far East, where Noah Takato (11) finished 2nd place. The tennis team wrapped up their last matches with several standout performances with many undefeated players coming first in the Kanto Finals, and the volleyball team will have their last tournament on Saturday, November 1. With fall sports concluded, excitement is shifting to the start of the winter season.
Winter sports tryouts are just around the corner, beginning with Basketball on November 3rd and 4th, where players will showcase their shooting, defense, and overall court abilities. Coach Stacy and Coach Theisen will lead the basketball teams, each bringing experience and strategic insight to St. Mary’s athletics. They’re focused on building teams that not only compete but excel on the court. Their training sessions promise a season of intense gameplay and development for both JV and varsity squads.
Soccer season will also kick off soon, with tryouts on November 4th and 5th. Coach Mr. Chan are looking forward to assembling dedicated teams ready to take on the season. The soccer program at St. Mary’s has seen great enthusiasm this year, with students eager to make a mark in both JV and varsity games. Coaches are aiming to build squads focused on teamwork, endurance, and skill.
Meanwhile, Coach Yabui is preparing for wrestling season with a demanding conditioning program for new and returning athletes. According to several wrestlers, wrestling at St. Mary’s requires strength, resilience, and tactical skill, which are all key aspects to becoming a champion. The team looks forward to pushing their limits and representing St. Mary’s in upcoming competitions.
