This past weekend marked another memorable chapter in the long-standing collaboration between St. Mary’s International School and Seisen International School, as students took to the stage to perform Our Town Thornton Wilder’s timeless reflection on life, love, and community.
Our Town, written in 1938, explores the everyday lives of ordinary people in the small town of Grover’s Corners. Rather than relying on elaborate sets, the play emphasizes universal themes such as love, family, friendship, and the passage of time. It invites audiences to notice the beauty and significance in ordinary moments while reflecting on life, death, and human connection. The play is structured in three acts: daily life, love and marriage, and death, and features a Stage Manager who speaks directly to the audience, guiding them through the story.
With creativity and dedication, the cast and crew reimagined the classic play, delivering a moving, beautifully acted performance. Behind the scenes, students expertly managed lighting, sound, sets, and costumes, ensuring a seamless production. More than a show, the fall play celebrated the arts as a cornerstone of St. Mary’s and Seisen, bringing the community together and showcasing student talent.e
