Living in Japan gives St Mary’s International School students access to experiences that are unique to Japan. One of these is Tokyo Auto Salon, taking place from January 9 to January 11 2026 at Makuhari Messe.

If you enjoy cars or are curious about engineering, design, or technology, this event is a chance to see Japanese car culture up close. Tokyo Auto Salon showcases customized vehicles, real race cars, and creative designs from Japan’s world famous automotive industry. It is not just about looking at cars but about understanding how creativity and technical skill come together.
For St Mary’s students, this is also an opportunity to connect what we learn in class to the real world. Subjects like physics, design, and mathematics are all visible in the cars on display. Even if you are not planning a career in the automotive field, the event offers insight into an important part of modern Japanese culture.
The show is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, making it easy to attend with friends or family. If you are interested, consider going and sharing your experience with other St Mary’s students.
Tokyo Auto Salon is a reminder that living in Japan means learning does not stop at the classroom door.
