On Senior Night the St. Mary’s wrestling teams hosted ASIJ at home and delivered a quick victory with the girls winning 30–25 and the boys with a very dominant 52–9 victory. The dual held at a packed home crowd marking the final home appearance for several senior wrestlers such as Pipi(’26), Olivia(’26), Risa(’26), and Emma(’26) for the girls and Jimin Kim(’26) , Kei(’26) Hans(’26), Yuchan(’26), Kyungju(’26), Yo(’26), and Hugo(’26). They were gifted presents as a celebration of their contributions to wrestling.
The girls’ team opened the night with a tightly contested meet edging past ASIJ with a 30–25 win. The match remained close throughout the dual with key matches helping the team maintain a lead over ASIJ with incredible wins by seniors Pipi(’26) and Olivia(’26).
Following the girls match, the boys team delivered a dominant performance defeating ASIJ 52–9. The team held control of the meet from the opening match not letting ASIJ score a point until the 6 weight classes scoring consistently and limiting ASIJ’s opportunities “by shooting first like Mr. Yabui told us too” said Zen a varsity wrestling member . Seniors Jimin(’26) ,Kei(’26), Hans(’26), and Yuchan(’26) came home with their final victory at a home dual.
With both teams securing victories, Senior Night concluded as a celebration of the seniors’ dedication, leadership, and lasting impact on the wrestling program.
