Middle School student Sena has been nominated as St. Mary’s Artist of the Week for his dedication, effort, and the time he invested in creating an outstanding artwork inspired by Japanese mythology.
“I would like the viewer first to notice the iconic figure from Japanese mythology and the unique atmospheric effects created by the artist. What stood out to me most was the ambitious scale of the canvas and the sophisticated experimental painting techniques,” said Ms. Ramos-Virley, the middle school art teacher who nominated Sena.
Overall, Sena’s artwork captures his unique perspective on the world, highlighted by elements of Japanese mythology and by the immense effort and ambition behind experimenting with new artistic techniques, inspiring the next generation of artists at St. Mary’s.
