Saturday, March 21st at Camp Zama was the second track and field meet of the season. Schools from across Kanto Plain gathered to compete, including St Mary’s, ZAMA, Yokota, Edgren, Kinnick, MC Perry, EJ Kings, and Tokyo International.
First, in the 800 meters run, Jedidiah Schmitz, a first year runner from St Mary’s, finished with an impressive time of 2:07.81 to qualify for Far East. Additionally, Noah Takato and Tyler Davis, from St Mary’s, also qualified for Far East by running their personal best of 2:02.91 and 2:05.60.
Next, in the 1600 meters run, Yuto Takeda, from St Mary’s, finished 2nd in the event with a season best of 4:49.94. Yuto was then followed by Mughil RK, who finished 3rd in the event, with a season best of 4:51.31.
Finally, in the 3200 meters run, Mughil RK, from St Mary’s, finished first in the event with a personal best of 9:54.64, which was then followed by Noah and Tyler Davis, from St Mary’s, who both recorded their personal best of 10:05.24 and 10:05.40.
Overall, the second track and field meet of the season for St Mary’s was a success with several athletes placing top of their events and achieving their personal and season best performances. These results sets a promising tone to our track team as they continue to build momentum toward upcoming competitions.
