Maid of Honor is one of three surprise albums Drake released on May 18, and many fans quickly ranked it the weakest. Compared to the others, the album feels less focused, switching between emotional songs, rap, and upbeat tracks. Though this album is not very liked, I give it 4/5 stars, as many of the songs on the album have nice beats and good vibes.
The album takes risks, experimenting with different sounds instead of repeating Drake’s usual formula. While not every song lands, the variety keeps it interesting and shows Drake trying something new. While many of the songs like “H** Phase”, “Road Trips”, “Which One”, “True Bestie”, are very good, there are a couple weaker songs that many fans point out, one of them being “Cheetah Print”, getting the most hate. Though many songs on this album are good, since many people rank it the worst of the three, people assume that this album was bad.
Overall, Maid of Honor may not be the best of the three albums, but it is far from terrible. It is a very enjoyable album that may grow on listeners over time.
