Habibti feels like Drake’s calmest and most emotional album out of the three released on May 18. Instead of focusing on heavy rap songs or huge club tracks, the album leans into slower beats and smoother production. The sound feels consistent and creates a relaxed mood from start to finish. That is why I rate this album 4.5/5 stars, as its nice to take a break from heavy rap songs and instead fans get a chance to listen to chill and slower beats.
At times, some songs can blend together and feel repetitive, but the polished production keeps the album enjoyable. The album also has several standout tracks that make it worth listening to, including Slap the City, High Fives, WNBA, I’m Spent, and Classic, which help keep the album interesting and replayable.
The album also stands out because it feels more personal than dramatic. Rather than chasing huge hits, Drake focuses on atmosphere and emotion, making Habibti a project that may grow on listeners the more they hear it. While it may not rank first for everyone, Habibti proves to be a genuinely good album that shows a different side of Drake’s music.
