This year had important events both at St. Mary’s and in Japan. At school, one important event was the welcome of the new fourth-grade teacher, Ms. Tanya Dechodomphan. Outside of school, another important event was Tyler, the Creator coming to Japan to perform in Tokyo. Both events were important to the St. Mary’s community in different ways.
At St. Mary’s, Ms. Dechodomphan joined as the new fourth-grade teacher. Ms. Dechodomphan is excited to teach and help students get ready for middle school. She shared that when she was younger, her own teachers helped her enjoy learning and feel more confident at school. This is important because she wants students to feel welcome, work hard, and do their best in class. Her arrival brought positive energy to St. Mary’s.
Outside of school, Tyler, the Creator came to Tokyo and performed at Ariake Arena. He sang songs from his new album and also performed some of his most popular songs. Many students from St. Mary’s attended the concert and enjoyed the performance with their friends. The concert had a lot of energy from beginning to end. This was important because it brought people together and gave fans in Japan a chance to see Tyler, the Creator perform live.
