Cross country runner Noah Takato has been named Athlete of the Month after an exceptional season marked by consistent dominance and strong finishes. Takato claimed first place at both the Ikego and Tama Hills meets, winning two races a row, and capped his season off with a runner-up finish at the Far East Finals, narrowly missing first place.
Originally known more for his short distance running in the 100m and 200m, Takato has successfully used his strong top speed to his advantage in cross country this season. In previous seasons, he wasn’t always among the very top finishers, but this year his progress has been remarkable. He combines sprint power with endurance to become one of the top distance runners in Kanto plains.
Known for his discipline and strong kick, Takato has become a key runner for St. Mary’s. Mr McGuire, the Cross Country coach, described him as someone who “runs with incredible energy and stamina,” a quality that has set him apart in every race this season.
As the season comes to a close, Takato continues to set the standard for hard work and perseverance, showing what it means to represent St. Mary’s on and off the course.
