The recent math competition between ISSH and SIS brought students together for a friendly event featuring trivia questions and relay-style math games. The purpose of the competition was to encourage collaboration between the two schools and give students a chance to enjoy math in a different setting.
Allen Watanabe, who helped organize the event, said it was an enjoyable experience. He explained that the competition was not only about solving problems but also about meeting other students who share an interest in math and creating a positive atmosphere.
Both teams prepared by planning the games and ensuring everything ran smoothly—snacks and student cheering added to the supportive environment.
One highlight of the event was the strong teamwork shown by participants. Even when the questions became challenging, students continued to support their teammates. Allen noted that the competition helped students build communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

In the end, the focus was less on winning and more on bringing students from both schools together to connect, practice math, and enjoy the experience.
