Kanto Finals Tournament was hosted at Kinnick on January 24, where St Mary’s took second, by only a single point despite having 6 individual 1st place wrestlers. Undeniably, it is not easy to wake up early in the morning to ride a bus from St Mary’s to Kinnick, on 6:30AM Saturday, however all the titans wrestler went all in, showing the other schools what it means to be a St Mary’s wrestler.
6 of our wrestlers, Ponnappa 107lbs, Ryan 121lbs , Carlo 133lbs , Zen 160lbs , Kentaro 172lbs, Jimin 215lbs, all placed 1st in the tournament. and 3 of our wrestlers placed 3rd: Lakshya 127lbs , Max 139lbs, Kei 189lbs.
St Mary’s placed 2nd despite having disadvantages such as injuries and sicknesses, which reflects how strong we are both individually and as a team. They have a Far East tournament in Korea at Humphreys high school, starting at February 2nd. This will conclude their season, and with such a strong team they have, we could expect a good news from the tournament.
