St. Mary’s athletics had a memorable year, with athletes earning major accomplishments across several sports. From championship wins to record breaking performances, the year showed the strength of the school’s athletic program. However, the biggest highlights came from track and soccer.
In track, Noah (’27) had one of the strongest individual seasons of the year, setting a new school record in the 400 meters and breaking both the school record and Far East record in the 4×800 meters relay along side, Yuto Takeda (’27) , Jedidiah Schmitz (’26), and Tyler Davis (’27). His performances stood out as some of the top athletic achievements for St. Mary’s this year.
The soccer team also had a standout season, winning the Kanto championship for the first time in seven years. After losing to ASIJ every single time during that time period, the soccer team finally broke through on tournament day. They beat ASIJ once in the round robin, defeated BST, and then faced ASIJ again in the final, winning 1–0 to secure the title. The championship was especially meaningful because next year soccer will move to the spring season, giving the team the chance to face more competition and build on this year’s success.
