Following the Fall Play, preparations for the Spring Musical began! During the two days, November 17, Monday, and November 18, Tuesday, the auditions for the spring musical took place. The Musical “Into the Woods” is a joint musical with Seisen International School and the International School of Sacred Heart.
“Into the Woods” is a musical with a unique setting. The musical mixes four fairy tales. Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Cinderella. In addition, it also includes an original story about a baker and his wife. In the first act, the characters all enter the woods to grant their wish. They encounter funny and chaotic events, but finally get their fairy-tale “Happy ending.” However, in the second act, the musical starts to get deeper and darker. The musical does not say life is just rainbows and unicorns, but instead uses fairy tales to show that life is messy.
The auditions for the musical, tech Crew, and Pit Orchestra have already ended on the 18th of November, and are currently not receiving new proposals. Many students are already excited to see how the characters of the fairy tales, such as Cinderella and Rapunzel, will be brought to the stage.
