After almost six years, Fortnite is back on Apple’s App Store. This means iPhone and iPad users can download the game again without using extra apps or complicated steps. Many fans are excited because Fortnite has been unavailable on Apple devices since 2020.
Fortnite was removed after Epic Games, the company that made the game, added a new payment system. This system let players buy things without using Apple’s payment method, which broke Apple’s App Store rules. Because of this, Apple removed Fortnite from the App Store, and Epic Games decided to sue Apple.
For years, Epic Games and Apple argued in court about App Store rules and money from in-game purchases. Epic said Apple had too much control over apps and charged unfair fees. Over time, courts made decisions that pushed Apple to change some of its rules.
After years of court cases, Epic Games believed the new rules gave them a chance to return. The company sent Fortnite back to Apple for approval, and Apple allowed it back onto the App Store in most countries.
For players, Fortnite’s return means they can finally play the game again on iPhones and iPads without needing different ways to download it. Many fans see this as a big win after waiting years for the game to return.
